Title: Running IB TWS 24/7 or use API

I want to run PTL Trader 24/7. I get kicked out of IB TWS each evening. If I am not awake in the early morning to log in to TWS then I am not connected between TWS and PTL Trader.

If I use the IB API will it still log me out each evening?

IB Gateway is exactly what you are looking for. It is a lightweight application installed together with TWS, but it is only designed to power the API. It runs 24/7. If you have TWS installed, you have IB Gateway installed too.

Try it, it is a "must-have".
