Getting Started / paper trading first

Hi guys,

I am trying to get the ball rolling. I set up a IB paper trading account. I then set up a pair trading portfolio, downloaded PTL Trader, connected to my pair tradingLab, connected to IB. However, I don't seem to be able to bind my account. The drop-down menu is empty. I also tried to fill-in my IB account dets there but nothing happens.

Is it possible to test out a pair trading portfolio via a IB paper trading account first?

Are you sure you really have a regular paper account? This is something different than demo account. IB gives paper accounts only to owners of live accounts.

Thx so much for your clarification. You are right - I only opened this account with IB and not a live account yet. It looked like a paper account but as you point out it is more like a demo account. Cheers!
